#0388 First Tule River Indian Reservation

Site information:

Alta Vista School, 2293 E Crabtree Ave, Porterville

As the plaque says, this was the original location of the reservation.  The reservation was forcibly moved in 1873, and still exists today.  Nothing historic remains of this original site, as far as I know.

Plaque information:

This location, not proving satisfactory, Tule River Indian Reservation was moved to its present location ten miles south-east in 1873.
