The actual site is shown in photos 1-4.  Access to Camp Pendleton is limited, as it is an active marine base.  There are legal ways civilians can gain access.

La Christianita

Near this spring, the first Christian baptism in Alta California was performed by Padre Francisco Gomez, a member of the Portola Expedition, in 1769.

Plaque placed by the California State Park Commission in cooperation with San Diego County and United States Marine Corps, July 22, 1957.
